Dance music was dead – until Paul Van Dyk saved the day

I hadn’t heard a good dance track for ages, and then I heard a “mash up” of the original dance track Paul Van Dyk  – For an angel, on the Judge Jules show. Wow what an awesome track I thought, then I realised it WASN’T a mash up, but in fact it had been re-released for 2009 ! This has inspired me to get soooo much more work done as music is what motivates me to get stuff done !

I was on a natural high when I listened to this version for the first time, and it brough back memories of the good old dance music days from the late 1990’s when dance music was at it’s peak !

The mashup version below which is Paul Van Dyk vs Rachel Mcfarlane – Lover is also up there with the greatest dance tracks of all time and makes me want to reach for the lasers every time !

This song brings back memories! Ahh the good old trance days. Remember Toca’s Miracle by Fragma and Josh Wink’s Higher State of Unconsciousness?? Brilliant. Makes me feel old just thinking about it.

Yeh top top tune ! Of course I remember fragma – toca’s miracle, one of the all time classics. This is a minisite I will be adding to over time http://www.tranceanthems.co.uk as it has some of my favorite tunes of all time !

Just went on the site. Ahh I forgot about about Meet her at at the love parade! Great track. Not sure I agree with your Alice Deejay selection, I think its a bit cheesy.

Have you noticed that nowadays whenever they bring out things like Trance Anthems 2009, they mostly contain classic tracks from 10 years ago but remixed?

Yep Alice Deejay was a bit cheesy, but the site is still being populated so it will prob be replaced.

Love Parade is one the best tracks ever !

Yeh I had noticed, but I still keep buying them, to add to the batch of dance / trance Cd’s that I already have, and most probably have all the tracks already lol

The reason they keep re-releasing the 10 year old tracks, as that is when dance music was at it’s peak and it has been on a downward spiral ever since :(

Oooohhh Paul Van Dyk vs Rachel Mcfarlane reminds me of the good old days when I used to go out every weekend clubbing with my mates, too old for that now and married with a little one.

Time to spend some time on good old Youtube looking for other classics!

I recently purchased loads of classic dance albums off eBay to add to my ipod, it’s amazing what you can get for a couple of ££’s.

Yeh top tune Darren I agree.

I don’t go out clubbing much nowadays either, marriage and kids tends to have that effect.

Yeh if the kids are up early on the weekend, we sometimes drag them down the car boot sale, so I can look for some classic dance albums. Only a few weeks ago, I bought 14 old school double dance albums from various people and they cost me less than £10 for them all ! Bargain or what !

PVD is still a total god to me, saw him again last year at Creamfields, and I will be there again this yr hopefully.

I need to search out my old dance albums too. Josh Wink’s Higher State of Unconsciousness is still a awesome choon. Still remember when I first heard it at a student club night when at uni in the early 90s.

For an angel is amazing, and every remix just builds my love
